Coder / Swap Magic boot disks has been designed with one purpose in mind - booting backups/import games. In the Swap Magic 3.8 / Coder Plus package, there are two discs. One disc is for booting CD-R games, and another is for booting DVD-R games.
In short, the procedure for booting a backup with Swap Magic is like this:

Remove warranty sticker located on the back of the PS2. Turn the PS2 console over face down on the table. Remove the screw from cover Set PS2 console face-up, and carefully remove top cover. The PS2 should now be in front of you. Unscrew the 4 small screws on the CD/DVD drive tray cover and lift off. Remove the white disk from the tray cover itself and insert it in the flip top. Remove reset / eject switch and screw it to the flip top cover. Slowly slide the flip top cover on PS2 making sure to NOT pinch RESET/EJECT wires (this could damage switch) Turn PS2 face down and replace case screws Your PS2 console should now have the flip top cover successfully installed!
